Norwood Health Department Car Seat Checks

Hot Topics

The Norwood City Health Department employs two nurses who are certified by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration as certified child safety seat technicians.  Registered nurses, Chandra Corbin and Betsy Erbeck, are certified child safety seat technicians.

To assure that your child is properly installed into a car seat, contact Ms. Corbin  at the health department to make an appointment for a car seat check [(513) 458-4600].  Car seat inspections are completed free for Norwood residents or $10 for those living outside of Norwood.  We will inspect the installation of the car seat, check for any recalls, provide information and assist you to properly install the seat in the safest manner possible.

To check your car seat for a recall, go to:
http://www.odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/childseat.cfm

We also have a variety of informational handouts that contain very valuable information about child safety seats, traveling on airplanes, grandparents and car seats and many others.  Contact us at (513) 458-4600 or stop by the health department facility to pick up this information.

Ohio Buckles Buckeyes Program (OBB)
The Norwood Health Department is the Hamilton County location for this state funded care seat program.  This program is open to all residents of Hamilton County that meet specific qualifications.  The program receives a limited number of seats to serve the county, so these requirements must be met to receive a seat.  Please call Chandra or Betsy if you are in need of a child seat and to see if you meet the requirements.
